8.0.1 - Operation stopped at your request: mail.box

I had the same issue today when I upgraded my machine from 8 to 8.0.1.

Edit the notes.ini file Keep the first few lines and delete the rest.
[Notes]
KitType=1
Directory=C:\notedata
Start the client back up and answer the prompts to configure the client
That worked on mine.
